leaves pickup

Bulk leaf collection has begun in the Borough of Wenonah. Bulk leaf collection begins the week of October 16th, 2017 and continues through the week of December 11th, 2017. When Bulk leaf collection begins, containerized yard waste and branch collection ends. Please do not put leaves in bags or containers. Please place leaves in the street, far enough from the curb line to allow water to flow past the storm water catch basins. Leaves should be placed a minimum of 10 feet from all storm water catch basins. Please do not place leaves near a parked car. Adequate space is required for borough large leaf removal equipment. Do not mix large shrubs, limbs or branches in with leaves. If these items are mixed in, or are on top of the leaves, the leaves cannot be picked up. Pine needles may be included with leaves. Leaves will be picked up on a continuous rotating basis throughout the borough beginning the week of October 16th, 2017 end ending on the week of December 11th, 2017. These dates are dependent upon the weather, Public Works schedule, and in-town emergencies. Please contact Public Works Superintendent, Ken Trovarelli at 856-468-5300 with any questions or concerns.

The Environment Impact Study, (EIS), being conducted by STV, was halted back in 2015. The Borough of Wenonah received the attached letter in August from STV advising the study was restarting and there was a new option available regarding a proposed Borough Station and the EIS.

The request was distributed to Borough Council and was on the agenda at the September Borough Council meeting for discussion.

A vote for either removal of the station entirely from consideration or relabeling of the station as a “potential future station” will take place at the October 26th Council meeting.

It is important to note that STV has indicated that the decision to elect the “potential future station” does not have any binding effect on the Borough with regard to the rejection of a station in Wenonah. I will allow STV to conduct additional impact studies that are required if a station was to be constructed, not that it will be constructed.

NOTE: In 2014, Wenonah held a referendum on the acceptance or rejection of a “walk-up” station on the line. About 60% of the voters rejected having a station in Wenonah.
