Winter Weather Advisory Update
A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect Saturday from 7pm until 1pm Monday afternoon.
Snow is expected to develop late Saturday night through Monday afternoon with total accumulations between 8 to 10 inches within the county and may also include ice and mixed precipitation, which could result in downed trees and power outages as well as hazardous travel conditions.
Please plan to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary during this weather event.
Please shovel your sidewalks and driveways throughout the weather event to prevent snowy surfaces from freezing over, making it more difficult to clear over time and more dangerous.
Post 192 of the American Legion offers Rapid Response Volunteer Veterans (R2V2) services to support our community by offering assistance to those in need during the storm. If you need help with shoveling or transportation, please reach out to them for assistance. Call 856-464-0428.
Please park your cars in a driveway whenever possible. If you must park in the street, park on the ODD side of the street on Saturday to help facilitate snow plowing which will begin overnight into Sunday. In order to save yourself some energy, please wait until your street has been plowed completely before you shovel out your driveway.
Dangerous cold temperatures are expected through late next week which will slow melting and cause refreezing on roadways into next week.
The Gloucester County Warming Center will be open during an overnight Code Blue activation beginning today with hours from 6:00PM to 6:00AM at the Gloucester County Government Services Auditorium – 1200 N. Delsea Dr. Clayton, NJ 08312. The Gloucester County Warming Center will be tentatively closed until Monday. Those who require shelter will be placed in motels for the weekend. For additional information please visit the NJ-211 website at www.NJ211.org or dial 2-1-1 to be further assisted after hours or on weekends.
If possible, please check on neighbors who may need assistance. Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe!
