The New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute has named Wenonah a “Healthy Town To Watch” as part of its recognition of Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) programs for the 2024 year. This is Wenonah’s second year participating in the MWC program and we have advanced in recognition level from our first year, where we were recognized as a “Healthy Town Up-And-Coming.”

The Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) is a statewide community health initiative that provides evidence-based tools and strategies for mayors and community leaders to help their residents achieve healthier lifestyles and to improve overall health and wellness in their communities. The New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute has been leading the Mayors Wellness Campaign in partnership with the New Jersey State League of Municipalities for over 12 years. The campaign includes over 400 participating communities, and is growing.

According to Mayor Doheny: “I am very proud that Wenonah has been designated a Healthy Town to Watch for 2024, our second year of recognition for participation in the MWC initiative. This program has been a great way to introduce new wellness initiatives to our residents while also highlighting the wonderful work already being done by many of our local community organizations in support of health and wellness. We are especially proud of our work in supporting our senior population and people of all ages in increasing awareness of mental health services in our region. We are excited to continue our participation in MWC and look forward to increased health and wellness opportunities for Wenonah residents for years to come.”
