TORNADO RECOVERY
Tornado recovery continues. As a reminder:
- Residents are responsible for damage to their homes and to trees on their property .
- The Shade Tree Commission is responsible for the trees in the clear zone (between the sidewalk and the curb).
- The Borough is responsible for the park, including trees, and the train station.
- The Environmental Commission is responsible for the trees in the wooded trail areas.
Currently, the Borough is working with the insurance company and FEMA to estimate the remaining recovery from the storm for Borough property, obtain quotes for the work, and schedule the work. We anticipate tree removal to continue for several months. We have no information yet on stump removal and curb repair.
Dumpsters are still available for residents to deposit debris and household waste from storm damage. Dumpsters are located on East Ave., West Cherry St., and East Buttonwood.
WATER TOWER REHABILITATION PROJECT
The water tower rehabilitation project is well underway. We anticipate switching to a temporary water supply on or about October 14th for about 8-12 weeks.
During that time, to maintain water pressure, please refrain from watering lawns. In the meantime, please be sure you are following the watering restrictions.
