66th Independence Day Celebration Monday, July 4th at 8:30AM the traditional parade on Mantua Ave. will begin including categories and prizes for: 

  • Boys and Girls Decorated Bikes
  • Young children (< age 6), children (6-17) and adults (18+)
  • Organizational and Individual Floats – 1st Place winner $250

At 10AM the Patriotic Ceremony in Wenonah Park will begin shortly after the parade ends. Local dignitaries and guest speakers will commemorate the event, including the “Hometown Legend Award”. Local children will sing our national anthem with musical accompaniment. The winner of the school essay contest will also have the opportunity to read the winning essay. The community beer garden will follow the Patriotic Ceremony accompanied by live music from Kevin Schultes. Also, at 11AM, the athletic events will commence in the southwest corner of the park followed by the 14th annual pie eating contest.  

All are welcome to reconvene at the park for the prize award ceremony at 6:00PM and a free concert performed by a local artist.

Memorial and Business donations to be included in the July 4th program need to be received by Friday, June 24th. Applications for the Parade events, Memorial and Business donations can be found on the Lions Facebook page or at the Wenonah Public Library. Completed Parade applications are to be returned to the library to obtain a parade entry number.

Monday July 4th 2022

  • 8:20 AM – “Fire Sirens” 4 one minute blasts of the siren will notify the town that the parade is being assembled at Mantua & Marion Ave.
  • 8:30 AM – Parade begins!

Bands lead the way West on Mantua Ave to Lincoln Ave returning to Wenonah Park

  • 10:00 AM – Patriotic Ceremony following the parade @ Wenonah Park
  • 11:00 AM – Community get together in the park @ Veterans Corner sponsored by the Wenonah Fire Company and Post #192
  • 11:00 AM – Athletic contests in the Park including Peanut

Scrambles, Sack Races and Dash Races 

  • 11:30 AM – 14th Annual Pie Eating Contest
  • 6:00PM – Prize Awards in the Park
  • 6:15 PM – Concert in the Park
